Hey, hello everyone! Back after a short but very busy week, which still allowed me to recharge my batteries! And among the good news from the last few days, a message in my Facebook inbox from Virginie of Like a cookie, who told me she loved my Salted Caramel and Worm Cookies, and who proposed that I be the new godmother of the #47 Battle Food edition. I’m really happy because 1) it’s a first for me and 2) I really wasn’t convinced that my cookies, with their real worms, would be liked. So I’m really delighted that my creation was such a success despite its offbeat side.
Thank you therefore to Virginie for this mark of confidence and let’s together review my new prerogatives before discovering the theme.
WHAT IS BATTLE FOOD?
It’s a culinary challenge created by Carole of "Sunrise Over Sea", organized on the blogosphere where participants must publish a recipe around a defined theme on a specific date. This recipe can be inspired by many sources (blogs, books, old recipe notebooks) or completely invented, but it must be an "original" for the blog/internet user presenting it. At the end of the battle, a Pinterest board is created to gather all the participations, and the orders for the next edition are passed to another blogger.

Attention drum roll…. And the theme of this Battle Food #47 is…

I don’t know about you but me, I’m starting to get tired of classic Christmas recipes "Turkey with chestnuts/celery puree/apple compote/chocolate yule log". So this year, to boost our creativity and inspiration, I’d like us to add a little challenge by boycotting ingredients that are too classic. I declare "out" roast, sautéed potatoes, chocolate and gingerbread! I want novelty, originality and risk! This year we’re twisting Christmas!
I hope you’ll like this new theme and that it will inspire you. To help you a little, here’s a little Pinterest board with pins on the theme:
