Sometimes, when I wake up early enough to follow a meditation session after my run, I like to prepare a good breakfast before going to work. And in those moments, I make myself a good smoothie bowl !
Ok, I'm joking! If I do happen to go running in the morning and even meditate from time to time, on work days, I operate on autopilot until my cereal box. I wish I had crossed over to the dark side of Instagram (where the girls are young, have sculpted abs and silky long hair under all circumstances), but no! Because when someone says "breakfast" to me, I think "pancakes" before "almond milk".
The truth is, I took advantage of a week of vacation to make myself a breakfast that's different and test a smoothie bowl recipe that had caught my eye for a while. For those unfamiliar with the concept, a smoothie bowl is a smoothie with a slightly thick texture, on which you add healthy ingredients nicely arranged.
I put in what comes closest to what I usually eat: frozen red fruits, oat flakes, almond milk, banana, chia seeds and crushed almonds. It was super good but aesthetically, it could use a bit more color for an optimal result (since in this recipe, the "beautiful" counts as much as the "tasty").
In any case, from a purely creative point of view, it was super interesting to step out of my comfort zone (both culinary and photographic). I hope you like the result because I had a lot of fun!

Smoothie bowl red fruits
Instructions
- 1
Blend the frozen fruits with the almond milk. The texture should be thick enough for the other ingredients to hold on top, feel free to adjust the texture. Cut the banana into thin slices and crush the almonds.
- 2
Arrange the ingredients in fairly wide bands on the smoothie.
