Prepare for Your CAP Online

I had mentioned it to you in my article Online schools to pass the CAP, what do I think? the website Youschool was leading in terms of positive feedback from the students I had interviewed. But, not having tested it myself, I had difficulty recommending it to you. So I negotiated with them access to test and give you my opinion on Youschool. And since I also wanted to please you, I also obtained a one-year "CAP pastry" package to have you win! But before that, let's take a closer look at the platform!

The package

So as I was telling you, Youschool is a school that allows you to train for the CAP pastry chef online (they also offer other CAPs like the CAP Chef and CAP Baker). Since it's a training program subject to state educational oversight, you're guaranteed to have the complete and up-to-date curriculum without having to stress about it (the first difficulty when studying alone is knowing what to study).

It's all the more pleasant if you have to take general subjects because these are courses that are rarely covered elsewhere (for example, I barely mention them because not having taken them, I can't really help you on that point). At Youschool, the entire French, English and History-Geography curriculum is detailed and I would find that more than appreciable if I had to take these subjects.

The courses are available in different formats: written materials to download or videos. And the videos are made by big names such as Mercotte or Jeffrey Cagnes. At the end of each session, a multiple-choice quiz allows you to check your understanding. Clearly, it's a huge time saver, no need to spend an hour summarizing the lesson before learning it, I find that pretty cool. The package also includes an in-person masterclass for those who want it (equivalent to a practice CAP exam in the lab) and internship agreements to discover the profession in a business setting (which seems ESSENTIAL to me).

The platform

Now, let's take a closer look at the platform. I found it fairly clear. It takes a bit of practice to know where to find each course but the navigation is smooth and pleasant.

The home page provides access to the latest courses posted:

The "Browse" tab gives access to all courses by training program:

For each module, you have access to the recipe in written and video format:

The videos are clear, concise, without frills. Interesting fact: the ability to comment on the video to clarify a point.

For theory, written courses are followed by multiple-choice quizzes:

My opinion on Youschool

It's very pleasant to use, clean, simple!

Finally, and this is perhaps Youschool's strong point compared to other schools (from what I've been told), the interaction between members.

In each course, you have the ability to post your attempts and have them corrected by a teacher. And they seem super responsive (I had to disable notifications because it was popping up so much in my email inbox, which is rather positive!). And regularly, virtual practice exams (that is, preparations to do under exam conditions but at home) are offered.

Pricing

As for pricing, there is only one package whose price changes depending on the number of payments.

Honestly, I would have really liked to have access to courses of this quality when I took my CAP. If you have the budget, I can only recommend it to you.

And as I said in the intro, I have a one-year package to have one of you win (yes I know it's crazy!). It's on my instagram account that it happens!
